How to Change Your Haute Tress European Hair Topper’s Parting Line
Although our European human hair toppers come with middle parts, they can be restyled with side parts to match your own hairline. Watch the video or read the blog for a step-by-step tutorial.
1. Use the Right Topper
First make sure that your topper is made with a mono top (aka monofilament top). With this construction, hairs are individually tied to the lace which allows you to change the parting line in any direction.
2. Prep Your Topper
As our toppers are made with 100% real human hair, remember to spritz them with heat protectant before styling. Secure your topper to a wig stand or canvas head with clips or pins. Use the end of your comb to draw a new parting line, then pull the hair to the side and use clips to secure the hair in place. We used sectioning clips.
3. Blow Dry
Use a blow dryer to apply heat to the parting line and hair strands until they’re very warm.
4. Cool
Fan or let the topper sit until the hair is cool to the touch. When you remove the clips, the new parting line should stay in place. If it bounces back, you may need to apply more heat or wait longer for the hair to cool after blow drying.
5. Tidy
Comb to tidy up the hair and add a tiny amount of hair serum to catch flyaways. Apply to the ends of the hair as well.
